§ 39.11 — Bankruptcy Rule 1009: Amendments to Petition, Lists, Statements and Schedules

The Chapter 13 debtor is broadly permitted to amend the petition, list of creditors, schedules and Statement of Financial Affairs “as a matter of course at any time before the case is closed,” provided notice is given to the trustee and affected entities. Bankruptcy Rule 1009(c) mandates that a Chapter 13 debtor “promptly” correct an incorrect social security number.1
